 Flexible Volunteer Projects (FX)
The program is called “Flexible” because it accommodates the schedule of working individuals and students. Most projects take place during the weekday evening hours or weekend mornings and last roughly 2 hours.
Volunteers provide service to over 50 different non-profit agencies, serving their clients directly—working on various impact areas such as: Children, animals, homelessness, environment, health and wellness, and community enrichment.
All 75+ projects are managed and led by Volunteer Leaders (VLs) who have attended three or more projects and have gone through an additional training and background check. If you want to become a VL, please click here
Once you attend an orientation, you will receive an “activation email” with instructions on obtaining a password within 10-15 business days. Then, you will be able to sign-up for projects online. Until then, you should sign-up by emailing the VL for projects you are interested in.
In the member center you'll be able to manage your volunteer account. Click on the Personal Information tab at the top of the page, and you'll have access to your volunteer profile as well as your volunteer history -- with dates, hours and projects you’ve attended.
To see the projects you are currently signed up for, click on the My Projects tab. Please remove yourself within 48 hours if you cannot attend to allow other volunteers the chance to participate.

 Finding Volunteer Projects on our calendar
You can search our projects by location, issue area, or other attributes. To find all our projects click on Volunteer Projects on the left menu. The default view is our Calendar View, but you can also browse or search to dig down deep to find the project that's right for you. Just click on the tabs at the top of the calendar page.
Description of project attributes:
- Family Friendly - Projects which are good for families to participate in together. Minimum ages are listed under the project descriptions. All minors must attend with an adult.
- YVC Friendly - YVC members can participate without an adult.
- Special projects - Projects not done on a regularly recurring basis.
- First Timers - Good for people who are just starting to volunteer!
