Community Bridges -
a Group and Family Friendly Program

Community BridgesCommunity Bridges projects are organized to enable at least 100 people to volunteer together, with one or two projects offered per month.

Community Bridges projects offer diverse service opportunities. In the past year alone, Community Bridges volunteers have participated in projects such as: MLK Day Service Event, renovating a homeless shelter, painting murals at a daycare center, park and beach clean ups, creating a library for farm workers in Florida City, collecting Thanksgiving food and holiday gifts for people who would not have been able to celebrate the holidays without the support and service of strangers.

Attend a Project
One of the strengths of the Community Bridges Program is its simplicity. Projects are open to anyone who wants to attend, assuming there is space and any age restrictions are met.  It is not necessary to attend an orientation in order to participate. To register just contact the Community Bridges Manager

Community Bridges – the Group Friendly Program
Groups are encouraged to participate as each project is created to accommodate a large number of volunteers.  Corporate groups, Fraternities, Sororities, and other university groups, Boy & Girl Scout troops, religious and school groups are all welcome.

Community Bridges – the Family Friendly Program
Families with children will find most Community Bridges projects are designed to encourage children and families to volunteer together. Families can combine the satisfaction of helping our South Florida community while also spending quality time together.

As with all HOM programs, volunteers with disabilities are welcome to attend and with proper notification, some accommodations can be met.

To receive more information about upcoming Community Bridges projects, contact Bobbi Wald or call 305-646-7207.
